From 9-11 December 2020 in Port Said, the activities of the 1st Forum of Traditional Crafts for Specialized Palaces were launched. At the kind invitation of Dr. Samih Shaalan, Head of the Forum and Former Dean of the Academy of Arts, Dr. Tarek Waly, and Eng. Shimaa Shaheen participated in the forum's activities, where Dr. Tarek Waly gave a lecture entitled "Vernacular Architecture.. The Architect's Reference, the Experience of Architect Ramses Wissa Wassef in Harraniya", in which he presented models of vernacular architecture from various Egyptian regions, followed by a presentation on Ramses Wissa Wassef's journey and his human, craft and architectural experience in the village of Harraniya in Giza, explaining the leadership Ramses Wissa Wassef as a developmental experience for the individual, society, and urbanization.
Eng. Shimaa Shaheen also participated in presenting the human experience of the artists working at the Ramses Wissa Wassef Art Center, where Shaheen explained how these artists were affected by the experience of Ramses and how they merged with it. Shaheen also presented the various traditional crafts found in the Ramses Wissa Wassef Center, tracing the stages of textile and ceramic production in the center.
