Seminar

At the invitation of the Department of Interior Design, Faculty of Arts, October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA), Dr. Tarek Waly gave a lecture entitled “Human, Identity and Architecture”, followed by an open discussion with the attending students and the faculty’s team. During the lecture and discussion, the topic of identity, human and architecture, and the relationship between the societal perception of the concept of identity and its various dimensions and its reflection on human’s various creations, foremost of which is architecture, was presented. Where the architectural identity expresses a lively and honest expression of the culture of societies, it is the true translation of the society in its material and spiritual dimensions, as well as a permanent reminder and a link between the major stages of development in the culture of the national personality.

The event concluded with honoring Dr. Tarek Waly by the university administration and gifting him the university's memorial shield in appreciation of his role and contributions in the architectural field in Egypt on both the professional and theoretical levels.
