Tarek Waly Center Architecture & Heritage is the architectural consultant for the project of the Facsimile of the tomb of Tutankhamun. The Facsimile of the burial chamber was carried out by Factum Arte after the license was granted by the Supreme Council of Antiquities in 2009, Factum Arte team then started a high resolution recording in color and 3 dimensions of the burial chamber walls of the tomb in spring 2009. This idea was considered after noticing throughout the recent years a constant decay of the walls due to the high number of tourists.

The Facsimile of the burial chamber was given as a gift to the Egyptian Government, and it was shipped from Madrid to Cairo, and later to Luxor where it finally arrived on December 2013. The construction started in January 2014 lasting for 4 months till it was finally completed in April 2014. At the 1st of May an opening ceremony took place at the site in Luxor and was inaugurated by the Minister of Antiquities, Minister of Tourism, Luxor Governor and the ambassadors of the European Union. The Facsimile is now open to the public.

Tarek Waly Center designed the structure that housed the facsimile of the burial chamber, as well as an exhibition area, this was done by completing the original layout of the rest of the tomb using the same limestone in order to reach the same feel of the original tomb. One of the major priorities that were essential for this project was to provide wheelchair accessibility; this was carefully achieved by integrating a much gentler ramp to descend to the tomb.
