The Director of Tarek Waly Center Architecture and Heritage, Eng. Shaimaa Shaheen, participated in Al Ula International Conference on Heritage Impact Assessment, which was held by the Saudi ICOMOS in cooperation with the Royal Comission for Al Ula, where Eng. Shaimaa Shaheen presented her research on "Impact Assessment, Legislative and Institutional Challenges in the Egyptian Historic Cities ", which addresses the challenges facing the application of impact assessment as an effective decision-making tool for historic cities in Egypt and focuses on examining the legislative and institutional frameworks governing historic cities, and their role in enabling impact assessment, including it in decision-making processes and ensuring its effectiveness.
The conference activities continued from Decemebr 2-6, 2023, and the center's participation on the fourth day of the conference under the theme "Policies & Legislations, Frameworks."
